Heart Pendant with Fresh Water Pearls and Handmade Feedsack Fabric Beads

Through the years, I have collected many vintage textiles, some of which are feedsack prints often found in quilts made in the 30's and 40's by the women like my grandmother who did not let their floursacks go to waste. They would use the fabric in beautiful quilts for their family to use for blankets and bedspreads. I love the prints that were used on the feedsacks. They are often whimsical, colorful, and sweet. Inspired by the craftsmanship of these ladies who sewed for hours by hand, I made beads out of vintage feedsack scraps of material. I then coordinated them with beads from our modern age into this pendant necklace. The necklace is 37 inches long which includes the pendant portion. The clasp is a silver-toned magnetic clasp.
