I am sharing updates on my current Winter/Spring project.

Hi, I am Christi. I live in the rural mountains of central Pennsylvania. My shop is named after Mount Nittany where I fell in love and married my husband. I love working with beads and textiles especially when I can take an old vintage item and repurpose it into something new. Keep watching for updates to see my creative process in action.

I have always been very interested in making great things from items that are no longer used or discarded. I grew up with parents and grandparents who survived the Great Depression. I learned from them how to look at something that might be trash for most people and think creatively to repurpose it for a new use.

My grandmother made quilts from feedsacks and scraps from the sewing mills. My grandfather made furniture from wood branches that fell from trees. He was also known for carving out wood and making violins. My mother and father didn't throw much away either. It seemed like they could find new uses for many things.

Perhaps I learned creativity or inherited it. In any case I love to make things. You will notice my love for vintage textiles expressed in my art. I am also fascinated by many cultures of people and that too is expressed. I recently created some new crazy quilt headbands with vintage quilting scraps and buttons.

Please enjoy my shop as you peruse the items I want to share with you.
