My neighbor has a rooster that can be heard throughout the day in the distance if you are listening. I would like to say that was my inspiration for this bag; however, that is not the case. My mother had this old apron that had this wonderful embroidery on it that she saved in her treasure of textiles. When she passed away, I came across it and quickly stowed it away in my own collection of vintage textiles and embroidery because I knew it was special. The apron was tattered and no longer usable as an apron so I used it to make this bag so it could be enjoyed again by someone. I have to wonder how many wonderful family meals were made with this rooster's accompaniment. Now it will be able to go out into the world again where the wonderful workmanship of the person who embroidered it can be seen and appreciated once again.

This drawstring tote is made with soft desert orange ultra-suede fabric that is perfect for Autumn. The front of the bag has a lovely embroidered rooster on the pocket that had been salvaged from a vintage apron that was too tattered to function in the kitchen any longer. The trim around the top of the bag is of beads, coins, and mother of pearls. The lining of this bag is vintage cotton floral print that coordinates with the rest of the bag. The interior is a nice deep 17 inches that also features a smaller pocket made from the same apron for your cell phone, keys, or anything small you want to find quickly. The width of this bag when laying flat is 15 inches which makes this bag roomy for nearly anything you need to tote from the market, school, or a Fall festival. The straps make it easy to sling over one shoulder or two when you carry your treasures from your journey.
